New Stamp Celebrates Muslim Holidays

Canada Post has issued a beautiful stamp celebrating Muslim art and
culture in honour of two Muslim holidays. Eid al-Fitr, marks the end
of Ramadan it is a time for prayer, lavish meals and family
gatherings. Eid al-Adha commemorates the Koranic and Biblical story of
the binding of Isaac and marks the end of the Hajj, or annual
pilgrimage to Mecca. Gift-giving and charity are important features of
the Eid al-Adha festivities. This stamp and the holidays it celebrates
offer incredible opportunities for reflection and relationship
building between different communities.
